Contributions to Future Reports
As a researcher, you have the opportunity to contribute to IPBES’s work as an author or reviewer of upcoming reports. Globally, more than 1,000 researchers and experts from various disciplines are participating in this work. This work therefore provides international experience and excellent opportunities to build a valuable network.
Participation takes place as part of the so-called Calls from the IPBES International Secretariat:
- The IPBES Secretariat in Bonn is issuing a call for proposals, which is also being announced on the IPBES in Denmark website.
- Interested researchers should contact IPBES in Denmark.
- IPBES in Denmark and the Ministry of the Environment jointly select the Danish researchers that Denmark wishes to nominate. Based on the researchers nominated by the member states, the IPBES Multidisciplinary Expert Panel assembles the final group of authors and appoints lead authors.
Activities with Danish Experts
Symposia
IPBES in Denmark regularly organizes public symposia on biodiversity and ecosystem services, with the participation of researchers, professionals, and other experts. In the past, we have held symposia on topics such as land use, economics, nature restoration, and climate.
Plenary Sessions
IPBES regularly convenes international plenary meetings in preparation for the drafting of its key consensus reports, which are developed based on research-based evidence and subsequently submitted to policymakers. On the Danish side, IPBES in Denmark and the Ministry of the Environment are represented alongside other Danish delegates.
