Danish IPBES publications

Expert statements

IPBES in Denmark’s expert statements are action-oriented publications on specific topics, based on the global IPBES reports but “translated” into a Danish context. The expert statements are furthermore based on consensus among Danish researchers and professionals and are shaped by knowledge and experiences presented at symposia and workshops, as well as documented in the scientific literature.

The expert statements’ primary target group includes decision makers in the public and private sector, relevant media, and interested parties. However, the statements are publicly available to everyone.

Three expert opinions have been released so far, addressing the following topics: the restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems on land (2020), the restoration of marine biodiversity and the sustainable use of ocean resources (2021), and the values of nature and biodiversity (2025).
